If your order includes a live sourdough starter, here's what you need to know:

Feed on arrival. Give your starter its first feed of flour and water as soon as it arrives — this is especially important in warmer weather.

Giving it as a gift? Keep it in the fridge until you're ready to pass it along.

How long can it wait? Our starters are robust. Feed within 1 week of arrival if kept at room temperature, or within 3 weeks if refrigerated.
