Shipping policy

Order Processing

We process orders Monday to Friday and ship within 24–48 hours of your order being confirmed, excluding weekends and public holidays. Most orders go out sooner. Everything on the website is in stock unless the product page says otherwise.

Shipping Rates – Australia

  • Standard (2–8 business days): $9.95
  • Express (1–4 business days): $24.95

Orders Over $200

  • Standard shipping: free
  • Express shipping: $14.95

Free standard shipping is not available to WA and NT.

Single Starters and Small Items

Light orders qualify automatically for letter post at checkout. Nothing to do at your end.

  • Regular Letter, untracked (up to 10 business days): $4.95
  • Domestic Letter, tracked (3–6 business days): $8.50

Western Australia and Northern Territory

The untracked Regular Letter service is not available to WA or NT. Transit times on those routes run long, and a live culture sitting in an untracked envelope for two weeks is not a starter we want arriving at your door. Orders to WA and NT ship by tracked letter or parcel instead.

Delivery Estimates

Most orders arrive within 2–10 business days depending on where you are. Remote and rural areas can take longer. These are Australia Post estimates rather than guarantees, and we have no control over their network once a parcel is lodged.

Tracking

We email you when your order ships, with tracking details where the service includes them. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to activate. The untracked Regular Letter service does not include tracking.

Delayed or Missing Orders

If your order has not arrived within 10 business days of the shipping confirmation, email us with your name and order number and we will chase it up. Live starters are covered by our free replacement guarantee — if yours does not arrive, or arrives in poor condition, we send another one at our cost.

Local Pickup

Free local pickup is available in Ferny Hills QLD 4055 (Brisbane). Select 'Local Pickup' at checkout.

Orders are ready within one business day and often within a few hours. We email you once yours is ready, with a Calendly link to book a pickup time. Please wait for that email before coming.

Pickup times are flexible, as the business operates online only. To arrange a suitable time:

International Shipping

We ship within Australia only. International orders can sometimes be arranged on request — get in touch and we will let you know what is possible.
